Letterman reveals sex with employees, extrortion attempt

(Bloomberg| David Letterman went public to confess someone tried to blackmail him for $2 million over affairs he had with femaleletterman employees, an attempt thwarted by a sting operation after he notified the authorities, Bloomberg reported today.

Letterman, 62, revealed this on his CBS Corp. television program yesterday. He didn’t identify the extortionist, only saying that the man contacted him through a letter three weeks ago and threatened to make the relationships public if he didn’t pay. An employee had been charged with attempted grand larceny in this case, the Associated Press reported, citing CBS. Read the rest of this entry »

Amazon apologized and offers to replace deleted “1984″

1984Amazon.com Inc said it would replace copies of digital books that it purposefully deleted from its customers’ electronic readers this summer, as the online retailer sought to make amends for the controversial incident.

In July, Amazon acknowledged that it had deleted the Orwell e-books from the Kindles of an undisclosed number of owners. Amazon said it deleted the books because it learned an outside company had added the books to Amazon’s catalog but the outside company did not have the rights to sell them.
