
Belgrade is hosting the first Oil Forum of the Energy Community of South East Europe, which is starting today. The main objective is development of oil reserves in the region. Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will open the two-day gathering.
The Energy Community, which is co-hosting the meeting with the International Energy Agency, has also announced the participation of Energy Minister Petar Skundric, IEA representative Didier Houssin and Fabrizio Barbaso of the European Commission. Read the rest of this entry »

Ukrainian state energy firm Naftogaz has paid its August gas obligations to Russia in full, a company spokesman said on Friday. News was later confirmed by Gazprom, Russia’s monopoly gas exporter.
“The former government has not even paid the fees due under the Burgas-Alexandroupolis project, nor has done anything on the Belene NPP financing.
